Sarah Hashem has been an organic farmer in Rhode Island for the past 6 years. She joined the Groundwork RI team in 2019 as our Providence Green Team Program Coordinator, now serving as Director of Youth Programs. She also manages our Urban Farm and Greenhouse on Prairie Avenue on the South Side of Providence. Sarah is a first generation American who grew up growing organic produce and helping to cook for her family. With a focus on food security and the importance of organic farming and land stewardship in a changing world, she is helping our Green Team youth tap into their roots and the organic systems employed by our ancestors. In addition to being very passionate about youth education and empowerment, Sarah is also passionate about environmental and racial justice as well as public health.
